I am afraid of my mind

I am afraid of my mind
The way it goes,
The way it feels,
The way it wants,
Makes me afraid again and again.

It never obeys any rules –
Laid down by the society –
Taught by my elders.
What is wrong we perceive –
Is always a dream of my mind.
What we believe is immoral –
It urges to get hold of that

My mind has always been a defiant child
Rebellious to all the ‘do’s and ‘don’t s’

I am afraid of my mind
The wildness of its dreams,
The warmth of its desires,
And the depth of its passions,
Makes me afraid again and again

I am afraid of my mind, because
If I look into a mirror,
I can see an animal-
Trying to break the cage-
In which it chained inside.
